Classical Conditioning Story

There once was a cat named Sofie.  Sofie loved treats, and whenever her owner was giving her a treat, she would be excited.  Whenever the girl came back from the store, Sofie would be so excited, and she would get a treat.  Eventually, every time Sofie's owner would come home from the store, she would give her a treat.  Sofie got used to this, and whenever she saw the girl bringing plastic shopping bags inside the house from the store, she would run over to the cabinet where they kept the treats and wait patiently until she got one.  She even started to get excited when she heard the door open or the key being turned to unlock the door.  Another family memeber walked inside one day and Sophie checked the door, but it wasn't the girl who gives her treats.  But, one day, Sofie was taken over to the neighbor's house because the family was going on vacation for a week, and someone needed to take care of her.  The neighbors didn't need to go to the store for a long time, and Sophie started to forget about the treats.  But, on the sixth day Sofie was staying with the neighbors, they came home with plastic bags.  Sofie remembered about the treats and ran to the neighbors cabinet, but she didn't get a treat.  Finally, her family came back from vacation and took her home.  The next day, they went to the store and came home with plastic bags and the girl gave Sophie a treat.  Sophie remembered that she always got a treat when the girl came home with plastic bags, and everything went back to normal.
